This Quick And Easy Lipton Onion Soup Meatloaf Recipe makes classic meatloaf simple! Onion soup mix is a delicious "secret ingredient" that sets this family-favorite meatloaf recipe apart from the others.

I've been enjoying dinners that require less preparation lately, and this delicious meatloaf is one of those. This popular meatloaf recipe is a classic, which is not surprising given how much flavor it gets from a single packet of Lipton Onion Soup Mix.

Why I Love This Recipe
I've never had a bad experience with a meatloaf. It's one of those traditional recipes that tastes as good straight out of the oven as it does the next day in a meatloaf sandwich. However, this one is unique for the following reasons:
- The factor of Lipton Onion Soup. A simple package of Lipton Onion Soup Mix is responsible for the amazing flavor of this delectable meatloaf. This secret ingredient elevates the meal to a whole new level by adding a beautiful onion taste to the beef mixture.
- Two types of meat. All you need for the traditional Lipton meatloaf recipe is ground beef. However, I also enjoy adding ground lamb since it adds a little fatty richness and taste to the meat mixture.
- A simple meatloaf recipe. For hectic weeknights when you want a filling dinner without spending hours in the kitchen, this straightforward recipe is ideal because it's so easy to prepare. I enjoy preparing this ahead of time and then simply popping it into the oven for a simple supper when I get home. This is the ideal main course, and it's really easy to add a simple vegetable side dish. A complete supper can be prepared by adding some buttermilk air fryer biscuits.
Main Ingredients
This traditional meatloaf dish is a favorite due to its simple ingredients. This is what you will require.
- Ground lamb (optional) and ground beef. This meatloaf's basis is made of lean ground beef and ground lamb, which gives the moist meatloaf mixture its greatest flavor and texture.
- One Lipton onion soup mix packet. This envelope of dry onion soup mix is the main attraction; it gives the meat mixture a ton of flavor and depth.
- Milk, eggs, and breadcrumbs. This combination helps bind the ingredients together and prevents the meat mixture from crumbling, in addition to making the meatloaf incredibly moist.
- Additions of flavor. This classic meatloaf dish is completed with chopped onions, Worcestershire sauce, ketchup, and seasonings.
- Meatloaf Glaze. The meatloaf glaze, which is made with the ingredients shown below, adds a delightful tang and a sweeter taste to the entire dish. Who doesn't adore the delicious meatloaf glaze on top? It's completely optional. It's similar to the cherry on top.
How To Make Lipton Onion Soup Meatloaf
It only takes a few minutes to prepare this recipe, which is quite simple. What you'll do is this.
- Prepare. To make cleanup easier, line a rimmed baking sheet with parchment paper and preheat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. If you have a meatloaf pan, you can use it as well.
- Make the flavorful meatloaf blend. Ground meat, Lipton onion soup mix, beaten eggs, breadcrumbs, milk, Worcestershire sauce, ketchup, chopped onions, and black pepper should all be combined in a large mixing bowl. Mix thoroughly until all of the ingredients are combined. Avoid overmixing! I frequently mix the meatloaf mixture with my (clean) hands. Compared to mixing with a spoon, it's significantly simpler.
- Form. After forming the meat mixture into a loaf, put it on the baking pan that has been prepared.
- Cook. For forty-five minutes, bake the meatloaf in a preheated oven.
- Make the glaze for the meatloaf. In a small bowl, combine the ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, white vinegar, brown sugar, garlic powder, onion powder, and black pepper to make the glaze while the meatloaf bakes.
- Pour in the glaze. Take the meatloaf out of the oven after 45 minutes and cover it with the glaze.
- Complete the baking. Put the meatloaf back in the oven and bake it for another 15 to 20 minutes, or until it reaches 160 degrees Fahrenheit on the inside.
- Rest. After finishing, cover the meatloaf loosely with aluminum foil and let it rest for ten minutes before cutting into slices and serving. Savor the deliciousness!
Variations And Substitutions
- Try a variety of meats. As previously stated, ground beef is the only ingredient in the original recipe for this Lipton Onion Soup Meatloaf. Although I used lamb in this recipe, you could use other meats, such as ground turkey, to offer a variety of flavors.
- Season with other ingredients. This meatloaf has a great flavor thanks to the Lipton Onion Soup Mix and freshly sliced onion. However, you might alter the flavor by adding different herbs or seasonings.
- Put some cheese on it. Although it might sound a little odd, adding some shredded cheese to the meatloaf gives it a deliciously cheesy texture and flavor, making it quite rich. Cheddar or Parmesan cheese would be excellent.

Easy Lipton Onion Soup Meatloaf Recipe
INGREDIENTS
- 1 envelope Lipton® Recipe Secrets® Onion Soup Mix
- 2 pounds ground beef
- ¾ cup bread crumbs
- 2 eggs
- ¾ cup water
- ⅓ cup ketchup optional, for added flavor
For The Meatloaf Glaze
- ½ cup ketchup
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon vinegar apple cider or white vinegar
- 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce optional
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- ½ teaspoon onion powder
- ¼ teaspoon ground black pepper
INSTRUCTIONS
- Set the oven temperature to 350 degrees. Put parchment paper inside a baking pan with a rim.
- Using clean hands, thoroughly mix all the meatloaf ingredients in a large bowl. (Avoid overmixing!)
- Place the meatloaf mixture in the baking pan that has been prepared after shaping it into a loaf form.
- For forty-five minutes, bake the meatloaf made with Lipton Onion Soup.
- Prepare the meatloaf sauce while the meatloaf bakes. Combine all the sauce ingredients in a small bowl and use a spoon to mix thoroughly. After 45 minutes, take the meatloaf out and cover it with the sauce.
- Put the meatloaf back in the oven and bake it for another 15 to 20 minutes, or until it reaches 160 degrees Fahrenheit on the inside. Before serving, cover the cooked meatloaf with foil and allow it to rest for ten minutes.
NOTES
- Avoid overmixing! The meatloaf may become very dense and rubbery if it is overmixed.
- Make use of your hands. Mixing the ingredients using your hands is, in my opinion, the simplest method to ensure that you're putting all the mouthwatering tastes into every bite, even if it may feel nasty (I know!). Just be careful to thoroughly clean them before combining!
- Let rest the meatloaf. Because cutting into the meatloaf immediately causes all the moisture to run out, letting it rest will help it maintain its shape and keep its juicy texture. To allow the meatloaf to reabsorb all of its juicy glory, let it rest. (We also have to pay attention if Martha says so.)
